Oz is a fisherman. His tips here extend to those casting for a mate.
Ladies, I’m going to tell you something pretty important: there are some significant pros and cons when dating a fisherman. So should you ever find yourself attracted to one, it would be wise to evaluate your situation and weigh out the pros and cons of dating a fisherman before your get hooked (pun totally intended).
Pros:
He’s a morning person, so he’s too tired to go out at night and do naughty things.
His hunting instincts are directed towards fish, not other women.
Always got a nice tan.
He’s got that rugged, outdoors-guy appeal that those pasty effeminate boys can never achieve at the beauty spa.
Can make you some pretty tasty sashimi.
In a post-apocalyptic world, he’d know how to feed you. Granted that it’s the post-apocalyptic world from Water World, not Mad Max.
Fishing is a much sexier hobby than video games. Fishing has been romanticised in writing by greats like Ernest Hemmingway and Norman McClean. When’s the last time someone wrote a classic about Super Mario Bros.?
Knows how to tie some good knots (for those bondage-loving girls).
Cons:
Because he’s a not a night person, you shouldn’t expect him to join you for too many evening functions.
He’d happily spend $200 over a fishing reel but will think twice about spending the same amount over a nice dinner with you.
He can smell fishy at times and your jealous instincts may convince you that the source was from another woman.
Hey may use fishing metaphors to describe his feelings. For example, ‘Honey, I feel hooked up’ or ‘I feel like we’ve hit a backlash and we’re stuck in a bird’s nest that needs clearing’ or ‘Baby, you get me hot and sexy the same way a slowly retrieved rubber worm gets a striped snakehead’s mouth watering’.
You are competing for his attention with a less-evolved life form.
He may be both a fisherman and a video gamer (like me), and in that case you’re f***ed lady.
